- As the “Restoring Honor” Tea Party rally spearheaded by Glenn Beck of Fox News rapidly approaches along with the anniversary of the historic March on Washington on Sat., Aug. 28, many Americans are angry, confused, and frankly, in search of answers.
The “Restoring Honor” rally which will take place on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C., has inevitably brought the issue of race back onto the national forefront. Most alarming for some, is the growing support of Beck and the Tea Party movement among African-Americans.
The term “Black conservative” has long been considered an oxymoron in the American political lexicon; however, that does not denote their lack of presence or power. If fact, Kevin Jackson, a right-wing African-American ideologue, author, and Tea Party spokesperson, said that the belief that Blacks are underrepresented in conservative circles is anything but true.
