- Embattled Rep. Charles Rangel shot back Monday night at President Obama’s unsolicited advice for him to “end his career with dignity.”
“Frankly, he has not been around long enough to determine what my dignity is,” Rangel said of Obama during a fiery candidates’ forum at the Convent Avenue Baptist Church in Harlem.
“For the next two years, I will be more likely to protect his dignity,” said the 20-term Democrat, according to The New York Times.
In an interview last month, Obama suggested Rangel should consider retiring rather than have hisnamed dragged through the mud over charges of ethical violations.
