While hip hop has proven to be a powerful art form among young people. I would argue that it still seems to lack that adequate intellectual thrust required to define the whole generation. As young people gain experiences, they will begin to draw from a range that will change their expression and cause hip hop itself to evolve. It is important that these artist (the geniuses that they are) begin to embrace the universal human condition the good and the bad of it. Presently, hip hop seems to draw upon a limited frame of reference. Do we really need to here another story about success born of neglect. It is past the time for us to produce a generation worthy of our aesthetic.
