- Wayne County Circuit Judge Thomas Jackson just ruled that a lower court judge did not abuse his discretion in sending Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick to jail, meaning the mayor will remain behind bars.
Jackson’s decision came moments after prosecutors arguing to keep Kilpatrick behind bars for violating his bond just told Jackson that Kilpatrick brazenly ignored restrictions on his travel, despite being given great leeway and prior warnings not to leave town without calling the court.
