Cockrel Jr. said he talked on Thursday night to a couple business leaders he wouldn’t name, and said that he believes there is a hesitation to speak out in the business community because many are white suburbanites who fear criticism. “If you are doing business in the city of Detroit you have a voice,” Cockrel said. . “You ought to be using that voice.”
