- With the world watching, Gov. Jennifer Granholm should call Kwame Kilpatrick tomorrow, if he has been released from jail, and notify him that he no longer is mayor of Detroit.
She will not pass judgment on his guilt or innocence on perjury charges.
She will not decide whether he should be charged with shoving a law enforcement officer.
She, quite simply, based on his behavior, and the fact that his behavior continues to lead to criminal charges, constitutes “official misconduct.”
