Poll: 46% of voters see affirmative action as no longer necessary

- According to a recent (July 31) poll conducted by Rasmussen Reports, 46% of those surveyed feel that affirmative action is no longer necessary.  Among black voters surveyed, only 11% felt affirmative action is no longer necessary, with 76% answering that the programs should be continued.  54% of those surveyed feel that the Presidential candidates’ views on affirmative action are either somewhat or very important, 91% of black voters polled shared the same feelings.
