- Joe Andrew, chair of the Democratic National Committee from 1999-2001, plans to endorse Senator Barack Obama at a press conference in his hometown of Indianapolis on Thursday. “I am convinced that the primary process has devolved to the point that it’s now bad for the Democratic Party,” Andrew said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press.
He was selected by President Bill Clinton to lead the Democratic National Convention and endorsed Senator Hillary Clinton the day she declared for the Presidency.
