Financial Literacy Equals Economic Empowerment

- ”In these times of economic uncertainty, it is more important than ever that every citizen have the basic financial knowledge needed to make wise money decisions, avoid predatory lending schemes and plan for the future. This is especially true for African-Americans, many of whom still face tremendous obstacles on the road to financial self-sufficiency.”

That was the message I delivered to the House Financial Services Committee during my testimony on April 15th.

  • Thank you so much for being an economic advocate. Financial literacy should be taught in primary through high school. One needs to be prepared to live in the world, not only work in it. Kudos for delivering such a great message.
