When associate minister Calvin Lewis rose to the pulpit, he prayed the Illinois Democrat would “soar from the back streets of Chicago to the White House.”
A few minutes later, state Rep. Ako Abdul-Samad suggested God has helped level the playing field for Obama. “So, there is nothing the senator can’t do,” he said, introducing the presidential candidate.
